A 7-member team from GE visited the Tata Motors Limited (TML) vehicle manufacturing facility in Pune on July 7, 2023 to learn from TML’s demonstrated best practices. This visit was facilitated by the Group Safety & Health team at Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG). The GE team had approached the Group Safety & Health team with a request to learn from best practices within the Tata group.
During the visit, Dr. Arun Kalem, the Health & Safety Head at TML, welcomed the participants and outlined the key areas the team will be visiting and the best practices that will be showcased during the visit. The TML team showcased practices such as Critical to Safety Stations and Pro-active Safety Index to the visiting team, which the GE team found very invaluable. They were particularly appreciative of unique practices at TML around the Safety Dexterity Cell and the OHS Centre’s approach to handling of individuals who have undergone a suspension trauma. The GE team was also taken through the safety journey of TML and how it has evolved over the years. The GE team expressed its appreciation and their willingness to visit other Tata sites in the future.
