The Tata Data Privacy Forum, hosted by Titan in Bengaluru on September 24, 2025, brought together over 140 participants from 40 leading companies. The hybrid format drew 70 attendees on-site with 70 joining virtually, fostering rich discussions across diverse industry perspectives.
The forum commenced with a keynote address by Rajmohan R, AVP–Digital, Titan, who underscored the critical role of trust, consent, and operational readiness under the Data Protection and Digital Privacy Act (DPDPA). He highlighted the profound human consequences of privacy breaches and the pressing need for cultural transformation in organisations.
Insights and Frameworks
Sujatha Sree GS, Data Privacy Specialist, TCS, unveiled the Tata Privacy Compendium, a consolidated repository of Best Practices from across Tata companies. Structured around the 4DS Framework — Define, Discover, Deploy, Demonstrate, and Sustain — the compendium offers a practical guide for privacy excellence. She also introduced the Datum Maturity Assessment Model, designed to help organisations evaluate their privacy posture across strategy, governance, execution, and sustainability.
Nethra V, Manager–Information Security and Data Protection, Bosch Global Software Technologies, shared Bosch’s proactive DPDPA readiness programme, initiated as early as 2019. With a 250-member task force, Bosch has conducted extensive top-down and bottom-up assessments, reinforced governance structures, and emphasised privacy by design. She also addressed challenges posed by legacy systems and the importance of multilingual privacy notices in ensuring inclusivity.
Mayuran Palanisamy, Partner and Leader–Digital Trust and Privacy, Deloitte South Asia, provided an audit-focused perspective, outlining key areas that organisations must strengthen, seize as opportunities, or avoid. He emphasised the need for cross-functional collaboration among Data Protection Officers (DPOs), Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), and Chief Data Officers (CDOs). Palanisamy introduced the Trusted Data Framework, designed to align privacy, governance, and lifecycle management.
In a joint session, Sujatha Sree GS and Aparna Pathak, Global Privacy Specialist, TCS, explored the intersection of privacy and artificial intelligence (AI), discussing associated risks, legal considerations, and opportunities to leverage AI in strengthening privacy safeguards.
Rajesh Ranjan, Data Privacy Officer, Titan, shared practical insights on operationalising privacy policies. He demonstrated how to implement data inventory, records of processing and consent management, while leveraging AI-driven privacy process automation. He also showcased the importance of privacy framework maturity, KPI monitoring, and embedding privacy into business processes to modernise and transform legacy systems.
Collaboration and the Road Ahead
To maintain engagement, Abhishek Kar, Deputy Head–Technology, Mjunction, hosted an interactive quiz on data privacy, energising the audience and encouraging active participation.
The forum concluded with 10 case study discussions, moderated by Rahul Puri, Senior Vice President–Revenue Assurance, Fraud Control & Digital Transformation, Tata Play, and Sanjay Pai, Vice President, Tata AIG. These sessions provided participants with hands-on learning on real-world implementation challenges and the value of cross-functional collaboration.
Looking ahead, the forum’s impact will be measured by the extent to which organisations embed privacy by design into their core practices, cultivating a culture of trust, transparency, and responsible data stewardship across the Tata ecosystem and beyond.
