Tata Play hosts the third quarterly best practices meet of the Tata Supply Chain Forum

Tata Play spearheaded the Tata Supply Chain Forum's third quarterly best practices meet in Mumbai, in November 2023. The agenda unfolded over two days, with participants visiting Tata Play's corporate headquarters on Day 1 and delving deeper into their supply chain practices on Day 2 through a tour of their Bhiwandi warehouse.

The event attracted a participation of 25 supply chain experts from 16 Tata companies, fostering a vibrant exchange of insights. Leading the discussions from Tata Play were A. Arun Kumar, Senior Vice President - Head Supply Chain; Jaswinder Saini, Vice President - Supply Chain; Anil Dalvi, Vice President - Supply Chain; Suresh Menon, GM - Supply Chain; and Varun Vij, GM - Supply Chain, sharing their expertise on process automation, forecasting, real-time MIS, AI in procurement and logistics, interactive Power BI dashboards, ‘Bigger Saving Ideas 2.0’, partner outreach, import reduction and people development.

Adding to the depth of the event, Sambasivan G, Tata Play's Chief Financial Officer, provided an overview of the company's growth journey and the critical role played by its supply chain function. He highlighted the recent breakthrough of launching DTH operations with GSAT-24, an indigenously built satellite by ISRO, enabling Tata Play to significantly expand its channel capacity and reach remote areas.

The two-day experience offered participants a first-hand look at Tata Play's warehousing practices, ESG initiatives, and recent developments like the dense racking system and robotic shuttle for pallet handling.

Overall, the forum proved to be a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, collaborative learning and continuous improvement within Tata Group's supply chain ecosystem.
