Tata Autocomp and Tata Play share practices related to Treasury and Forex Management with 20+ Tata companies

On March 7, 2022, TBExG facilitated an inaugural session of the Treasury and Investment Management (TIM) Forum. In this session, the participants voted forex management, digitisation and liquidity management as the top three areas of interest. Accordingly, TBExG organised the first quarterly best practices session of this forum on Treasury and Forex Management on May 11, 2022. This session witnessed participation from 35+ treasury practitioners from over 20 Tata companies.

The two-hour long session was moderated by Vijay Furia, Head Treasury, Investor Relations, Insurance and Retirals, Rallis India. In the first hour, Pradeepkumar V, VP Treasury FPNA; Mukesh Shah, VP Finance; Chirag Kotak, AGM Treasury; and Atish Gadodia, Senior Manager Treasury & Finance, from Tata Play, gave an overview of the treasury function at Tata Play and elaborated further on cash management, forex, debt, liquidity, reporting, automation, business models and associated processes.

Next, Upendra Gadre, Group Vice president Finance and CFO, Tata Autocomp Systems, shared his insights on the treasury function at Tata Autocomp Systems. Thereafter, Ashish Parekh - Head Treasury, Shared Services, took the discussion further on financing structures and deficit management, supply chain financing - practical issues and big 4 audit firm views on balance sheet treatment for various structures, investment and forex management.

The knowledge exchange received encouraging feedback from the participants and paved the way for companies to understand the practices shared in further detail and leverage these learnings to improve their existing practices.

TBExG will now be facilitating the next quarterly best practices sharing session for the TIM Forum in August 2022, with a focus on Forex and Digitisation.
