Tata AutoComp Systems Limited (TACO), is one of India’s leading auto component manufacturers, providing products and services to Indian and global automotive OEMs as well as tier-1 suppliers. The company has multiple joint ventures and has a manufacturing presence across geographies, including India, North America, Latin America, Europe and China.
The company has embarked on a journey of excellence, and it wanted to revisit its vision statement in aspiration of its growth trajectory. The existing statement was developed a few years ago and the company had achieved its vision well ahead of time and it was time to recraft them considering their growth and staying relevant to the changing times.
TACO embarked on a journey of co-creating their new vision statement along with their stakeholders. Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG) helped TACO in developing their new vision statement with consolidated inputs from all stakeholders through, focus group discussions, one-on-one leadership interfaces and senior leadership workshops.
More than 100 people across TACO were engaged in co-creating this vision statement over a span of three weeks, and all inputs were put together to coin the new vision statement. The format, structure and presentations were very well received and appreciated by all participants. The engagement not only helped TACO in drafting their new vision statement but also helped in collective engagement of cross-functional teams across the company, which is crucial for achieving company-wide alignment and shared commitment towards the new vision which the company has embarked to achieve.
With a new vision statement, TACO effectively communicates its goal to its stakeholders. The company will use it as a directional guiding framework for its decision-making, strategy development, customer centricity and operational efficiency.
