Tata employees based in North America had the opportunity to participate in a Business Excellence Assessor Programme (BEAP) conducted by the Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG) from May 7-9, 2018. The programme was conducted by Anil Menghrajani, AVP, TBExG, at the Tata Technologies’ office in Novi, Michigan. It was attended by participants from five Tata companies — Tata Technologies, Tata Communications, Tata Steel Minerals Canada, Tata Global Beverages and Tata Sons. The programme was intended to expand the pool of TBEM assessors from North America and add to cultural diversity in the TBEM assessor team.
During the programme, Warren Harris, CEO and MD, Tata Technologies, interacted with the participants and shared his experience of being a mentor for seven different teams in TBEM assessments and of being on the other side as a recipient of TBEM feedback and an applicant CEO.
As a seasoned team leader, Sonal Ramrakhiani, president and COO, Tata Technologies North America, shared her TBEM journey of 16 years — from the time she attended the first training programme on TBEM to leading teams for complex assessments over the years. Both these interactions provided a practitioner perspective to the excellence journey of the Tata group and helped participants imbibe the real essence of the excellence movement.
