Tata 1mg hosted the sixth Tata Supply Chain Forum Meet on October 22-23, 2024, at its facilities in Gurugram and Delhi. The two-day event, brought together over 25 senior supply chain practitioners from 15 Tata companies. Led by Tata 1mg’s supply chain team and managed by Sunil Chaturvedi, Programme Manager, the forum highlighted Tata 1mg’s commitment to digitalisation and operational excellence, from cold medicine temperature tracking to QR-coded visitor entry.
The event began with a keynote by Tanmay Saxena, COO, Tata 1mg, addressing current industry challenges and Tata 1mg’s solutions. Ravi Agrawal, AVP, ePharmacy Supply Chain, Tata 1mg, provided an overview of the company’s extensive operational network across India, setting the context for the following sessions. Participants engaged in discussion to gain insights about Tata 1mg’s approach to the complex pharmaceutical landscape.
Sessions on operational excellence, product insights, and purchasing processes followed, led by Nakul Gupta, Director - Process Excellence; Rishit Jain, AVP - Product Management; and Devinder Ahaluvalia, Head - Purchase & Planning. In the second half, Nikhil Doegar (SVP Dataverse) shared insights into how Tata 1mg leverages data and AI across the organisation to enhance patient health outcomes, utilising a healthcare data repository of over 200 million users. Advanced AI models are used for prescription digitisation, inventory planning, and delivery ETA estimation.
Dr Prashant Nag, Vice President - Diagnostics Supply Chain, Tata 1mg, discussed diagnostic operations, showcasing the company’s network of 11 NABL and CAP-accredited laboratories, staffed by over 1,000 skilled phlebotomists. Dr Meetu Garg, AVP, Tata 1mg, concluded Day 1 with a session on pharma quality standards, reinforcing the company’s commitment to safety.
On Day 2, attendees toured Tata 1mg’s Noida warehouse, observing live order processing, inventory management, and quality checks — practices that have set industry benchmarks and attracted government interest. The visit also included Tata 1mg’s Okhla Diagnostic Lab where participants saw lab operations first-hand.
