The first-ever Tata Network Forum (TNF) Finance meeting was held in Singapore on September 24, 2026, bringing together finance leaders from across the Tata Group. Senior employees from Tata Motors, Tata Capital, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Communications, Tata Consultancy Services, Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Technologies and Tata NYK participated in the inaugural session, marking a significant step towards building a strong, connected finance community within the Group in the region.
The meeting was convened by Rahul Shah, Resident Director - ASEAN, Tata Sons. In his opening address, he introduced the participants to the Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM), the Group’s framework for driving excellence across its companies. He then presented the Tata Network Forum as a platform that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices among Tata companies, and outlined its objectives and the range of activities undertaken under its banner.
Following the introduction, each participating company shared an overview of its business in Singapore. Representatives spoke about the nature of their local operations, their organisational footprint, employee strength, and the banking relationships they currently maintain in the country. This round of presentations gave everyone in the room a clear, consolidated picture of the Tata Group’s collective presence in Singapore.
The open discussion that followed brought out several opportunities for the finance teams to work together more closely. The key areas identified included:
- Leveraging the Group’s collective banking relationships in Singapore to secure better terms on borrowing and investments.
- Sharing banking experiences and best practices across Group companies, so that each can learn from the others’ journeys.
- Exploring banking partners that have been used successfully by other Tata companies, helping teams make better-informed choices.
- Enhancing collaboration in treasury, funding, market intelligence and knowledge sharing.
By pooling their experience and insights, companies stand to save time, avoid duplication of effort and make stronger, more confident decisions. The conversation also highlighted how the Group’s combined scale can be a meaningful advantage when engaging with financial institutions.
The meeting laid a solid foundation for deeper and more regular collaboration among Tata Group finance teams in Singapore. It also reinforced the ‘One Tata’ approach – the belief that by drawing on one another’s strengths and working together, Group companies can create mutual value that goes well beyond what any single company could achieve on its own. With the inaugural session setting a positive tone, the forum is expected to serve as an enduring platform for finance leaders to connect, learn and grow together.
