The Assessment process and the Advanced Diagnostics process has provided me with the opportunity to work very closely with Senior Management within the Group and visit and assess our Group companies. During the latter I have learnt from industry best practices and from immensely talented colleagues. I feel it is my responsibility to pass on the learnings from these interactions over the years on to Tata colleagues who will continue to lead this process, well into the future.”

Functional Expertise

Gautam Gondil has led several Advanced Diagnostic projects (aka Deep Dives) in the area of Safety and Health on the Tata Group Safety Standards and Safety Management Systems. He has also been a part of teams that administered the Safety Perception Survey for employees and the Felt Leadership Survey for Senior Leaders.

He has been a part of several Advanced Diagnostic projects in the areas of Customer Centricity, Strategy, Process Centricity and Knowledge Management. Gautam has documented and published Tata Best Practices and set up a Benchmarking process within Tata companies. In addition, he is also a TBEM (Malcolm Baldrige framework, USA) Trainer and Assessor and has undertaken various assessments of Tata companies over the years.

Before moving to TBExG, Gautam was with Tata International Limited (TIL), where he was accountable for the business development of steel rolls, for the rolling mills in Steel Plants, across the international markets of Europe, US and South East Asia. He has also worked in the imports function and was a key member of the team that managed the financing, imports and warehousing of CDMA mobile handsets. Gautam was part of the core team for setting up of DIESL, a company for last mile distribution of CDMA handsets across India.

These stints have provided him with an exposure to diverse cultures, industries and business models.
