IHCL hosts the third quarterly best practices sharing meet of the Tata Internal Audit Forum

Over 30 internal audit heads and practitioners from 20+ Tata companies came together to exchange best practices at the third quarterly meet of the Tata Internal Audit Forum. The meet was held at the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai, and was organised by Indian Hotels (IHCL).

The day began with an interesting presentation on the use of Artificial Intelligence in the internal audit function, which was conducted by Aien Noorul, Global Internal Audit Head at Tata Consumer Products. This was followed by a session from SY Raman, VP Internal Audit at IHCL, who shared insights from the company, including the proprietary Taj Positive Assurance Model and its new avatar. Sujit Dixit, Head Internal Audit at Tata Technologies, shared perspectives on sustainability and the ESG roadmap.

Throughout the day, there were short sessions by experts. S Bhaskar, Chief Internal Auditor at Tata Capital, delved into internal audit activity. Deepak Garg, Head Internal Audit at Tata Tele Business Services, discussed implementation of third-party risk framework based on learnings from Tata Realty and Infrastructure and Infiniti Retail. Sanjay K Mathur, Vice President - Governance, Risk Management and Compliance at Tata Communications shared enlightening ‘wow moments’ from his journey as an Internal Auditor.

There were insights from non-Tata experts as well. Gaurav Khandelwal, Associate Partner at KPMG, presented strategies for organisations to navigate regulatory changes and establish compliance programmes. Gaurav Khera, Partner - Digital and Technology Risk Advisory at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, shared insights on data privacy in the concluding session.

Puneet Chhatwal, CEO & MD of IHCL, attended the meet. He addressed queries from participants and shared his vision and expectations for the Internal Audit function.  

During the closing remarks, Deepak Deshpande, Vice President at TBExG, commended the participants for their dedication to continuous learning and improvement. He emphasised the opportunity for participants to engage in SMEAP training and play a significant role in the TBEM Assessment processes.
