Performance enhancement is accelerated through TBExG’s EPIC programme

Published on May 14, 2019

Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG) has kickstarted the Excellence Practice Implementation Champion (EPIC) programme to enable Tata companies to adapt best practices from within the Tata Group. The first of such programmes, which was launched at Jamshedpur on March 19, 2019, witnessed the participation of six Tata companies, including Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (JUSCO), Tata Power, Tata Metaliks, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals and Tata Steel Processing and Distribution (TSPDL).

The two-day session witnessed detailed interactions between the process owners from the Best Practices provider and recipient companies. JUSCO interacted with Tata Power on Continuous Improvement framework, Tata Metaliks explored the Knowledge Management approaches followed at Tata Steel and Tata Chemicals while TSPDL deep dived into Tata Steel’s Customer Complaint Management process. These best practice requirements were identified through a series of interactions with the CEOs/MDs and BE Heads of the recipient companies post the completion of Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM) assessments. Going forward, the implementation journey of these practices will be a part of the recipient company’s Business Excellence plan, supported by TBExG.

About the EPIC Programme
EPIC carries forward the Tata Best Practices programme by helping the companies to adapt best practices from the Group through a structured collaborative process, under the guidance of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from Best Practice organisations. EPIC is a platform that brings together the provider and the receiver companies together to enable successful adaptation and implementation of best practices.
