Project Suraksha by Tata Teleservices is an ongoing initiative aimed at ensuring the highest standards of safety and security across all its facilities. As part of this project, Tata Teleservices conducted comprehensive physical security and fire safety audits at 69 locations. These audits, conducted twice a year, identified 33 observations, all of which have been promptly addressed and resolved.
Context
To maintain and improve safety standards, these audits focus on critical safety areas such as refilling fire extinguishers, upgrading access control systems, addressing non-functional smoke and heat detectors, and resolving health & safety issues within office areas. In addition to these audits, the company has introduced dedicated reporting channels in the form of a dedicated email-ID and a safety helpline.
Benefits
Since the rollout of these reporting channels, the company has received numerous near miss reports from vigilant employees, all of which have been promptly addressed. Notable suggestions that have contributed to enhancing safety protocols include installation of convex mirrors, realignment of exit doors for improved visibility, speed breakers in vehicle pass areas, and signage improvements for fire extinguisher usage.
Each of these improvements have contributed significantly to Tata Teleservices’ ongoing efforts to enhance safety protocols and ensure a secure workplace environment.
