Tata Group Launches Data Privacy Compendium at Business Excellence Convention 2025

Published on December 22, 2025

On December 16, 2025, at the annual Business Excellence Convention, TBExG unveiled the Data Privacy Compendium, a consolidated guide to support Tata companies in strengthening their data privacy practices.

Developed with support from data privacy experts at TCS, Titan, Air India, Tata BlueScope Steel, and Tata Motors, the compendium reflects the Tata group’s collective commitment to responsible handling of personal data in an increasingly digital business environment.

As digital adoption accelerates and organisations increasingly deploy AI-driven personalisation, the importance of protecting personal data has become even more important.

Companies now have a bigger responsibility to use data in ways that are secure, transparent, and trustworthy. India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023, along with the draft DPDP Rules 2025, make it clear that businesses need strong privacy frameworks. These frameworks will not only help companies follow the law but also build trust with customers, enhance loyalty, and strengthen brand reputation.

The Data Privacy Compendium will help Tata companies improve their privacy practices and stay aligned with changing regulations. Drawing on learnings and practical insights shared through the Tata Data Privacy Forum, the compendium consolidates best practices, implementation guidance, and real-world perspectives to help organisations embed privacy by design into their operations.

The compendium is now available on the EDGE Portal, serving as a shared resource for Group companies as they continue to build a culture of trust, accountability, and responsible data stewardship.
