On 27th April 2023, The Government of Maharashtra organised a prize distribution ceremony in Mumbai where Hon’ble Labour Minister Mr Suresh Khade conferred the “Late Narayan Meghaji Lokande Industrial Safety and Health Award 2023” to Tata AutoComp Systems, Interiors and Plastics Division (IPD), Ranjangoan plant
The Director of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), Govt of Maharashtra, has instituted a state-level industrial safety health & welfare award named “Late Narayan Meghaji Lokande Industrial Safety and Health Award 2023” for industries which are doing extraordinary work and following good practices in safety, health and welfare of employees.
The IPD plant application was shortlisted by DISH based on the Factory Inspector’s visit for verification and inspection of the said process. He shortlisted the plant and recommended it for further qualifying rounds of the competition. The final round was presented to a state-level jury panel of the awards committee in Mumbai.
What IPD – Ranjangoan Plant Demonstrated:
- Good safety leadership
- Surprise and planned safety walks and audits.
- Timely closure of OFI identified during various safety drives
- Effectively implemented rewards and recognition for employees as a part of motivation and improving safety culture in the plant
- 100% compliance with the Legatrix system which ensured timely compliance
- Safety monitoring through various forums and drives – safety committee, 5S committee, senior leaders review forum, open house, works committee, etc.
- Demonstrated good housekeeping practices
- Focused approach towards implementing safe working through BBS and engineering application
