Given that safety and health are of paramount importance to mjunction, a deep dive exercise on safety was conducted in FY23 with the senior leadership in collaboration with Tata Business Excellence Group (TBEXG), which was aligned to the following objectives:
- Evaluate the current safety standards of mjunction across various locations
- Seek advisory on the best practises on safety across the group with specific reference to e-commerce and digital companies
- Implement the best practices on safety across the organisation
Based on TBEXG findings, the following were implemented:
- A refreshed safety governance structure
- A framework of periodic reviews for all locations
- Identified 35 safety champions across locations along with three convenors
- The apex safety council was augmented and revamped. This council includes the MD and all senior leaders of the organisation
- Designed a capability building plan for safety champions in collaboration with TBEXG
- Drew up awareness and capability plan for all employees in collaboration with Tata Tomorrow University
The implementation of key strategic safety interventions at an organisation level in FY23 included the following:
- A robust preventive and planned maintenance framework for fire and electrical safety
- Adoption of the culture of safety across the organisation
- Adoption of safety standards and due diligence at a holistic level concerning acquisition or renting of physical space or property
- The journey of digitisation with two-pronged objectives of safety and efficiency
