BE Heads of Tata companies in Singapore meet to take the business excellence journey forward

Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG) recently organised a meet for Business Excellence (BE) Heads, TBEM assessors and BE champions in Singapore. Presided by S Padmanabhan, Executive Chairman, TBExG, the meet witnessed participation from various Singapore-based Tata companies including Tata Communications, Nat Steel, Tata Power, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Tata NYK and Tata International.  Shubh Shrivastava, CEO, Tata Power International; NK Sharan, Vice President, TBExG; and CM Verma, Convenor, Tata Network Forum – ASEAN, were also present at the meeting.

The event, which was the sixth BE heads’ meet held in the past year and the first one in the ASEAN region, was conducted with the objective of helping BE heads take the business excellence journey of the companies in the region forward and work towards making Tata companies industry leaders.

The meet started with a welcome address by Mr Padmanabhan, in which he reiterated the need for Best Practices sharing within group companies and spoke about the important role played by BE heads and assessors in strategy deployment within the organisation. This was followed by an experience-sharing session by the participants on their TBEM journey, in which experienced and fresh assessors spoke about their TBEM assessments.

After this was a session on Best Practices sharing and adaptation. The highlight of the session was a demo of the Edge portal and sharing of best practices by participants. The various ways in which best practices adaptation could be facilitated were also discussed during the session.

The meet concluded with an open house with Mr Padmanabhan. Participants from the region stressed on the importance of such sessions and promised to take active leadership in the business excellence activities of their respective companies.
