The Mentors for 22 Tata companies that underwent TBEM Assessment in 2018 presented the key findings to N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, on November 23, 2018. Conducted in Bombay House, Mumbai, the session was attended by Mentors (some of whom joined through VC); S Padmanabhan, Executive Chairman, Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG); and members of the Governing Council of TBExG. The meeting marked the formal closure of the TBEM Assessment cycle of 2018.
In his opening remarks, Mr Padmanabhan thanked the Mentors for providing their valuable insights and guiding the TBEM Assessment teams through the process during the past year. He also highlighted the progress made by the Tata group in the business excellence journey, highlighting that in 2018, 5 companies are Industry Leaders according to the TBEM criteria, compared to 2 companies in 2016.
The Mentors of the 22 companies then took the participants through the summary of the Assessment findings for their respective companies. The 22 companies that underwent assessment were:

After the presentation, Mr Chandrasekaran addressed the gathering. Thanking the Mentors for committing time and effort to the TBEM process, he mentioned that there is an enormous opportunity for Tata companies to learn from each other through TBEM Assessments. He also added that the TBEM tool has a lot more to give, and can be utilised more effectively by the Tata group. He ended his speech by saying that he looks forward to all companies becoming Industry Leaders.
The session ended with a networking break over high tea.
